• IRIS, ISTIC and ECOSF hold a Joint International Workshop for “Technology-Based Entrepreneurship for Developing Countries”

Isfahan Regional Center for Technology Incubator and Science Park Development under the Auspices of UNESCO (IRIS) is organizing a training workshop on “Technology-Based Entrepreneurship for Developing Countries” in collaboration with Isfahan Science & Technology Town (ISTT), the International Science, Technology and Innovation Centre for South-South Cooperation under the Auspices of UNESCO (ISTIC) in Malaysia, and the Economic Cooperation Organization’s (ECO) Science Foundation (ECOSF) in Pakistan. The workshop will be held in Isfahan, Iran, from the 25th – 28th, April 2017.

This workshop targets interested individuals from the developing countries including Iran whom assume active roles in fields related to technology management and also professionals from research universities and institutes of these countries. The workshop is designed to provide the necessary knowledge on how to commercialize research findings for participants whom are involved in developing inventions or patents and for the directors of commercialization units of universities and R&D Institutes. The program aims to familiarize participants with the elements of entrepreneurship in relation to the demand of knowledge in an innovation economy. A systematic approach on how to help create and build successful businesses which are based on and are driven by technology will also be presented during the workshop.

This workshop creates awareness and motivation in participants by presenting materials on technopreneurship (Technology-based entrepreneurship) and its role in creating an impact on technology development, idea validation, opportunity assessment, business models, business planning and financing. The workshop organizers hope to increase the realization of technological solutions to social needs and demands in developing countries by exposing individuals with key roles with the concepts of Technology­–based Entrepreneurship. Participants from different countries including Oman, Nigeria, Malaysia, Pakistan, Italy, Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, Korea, Bangladesh, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Iraq, Lebanon and Iran have already registered for this workshop.
